The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse has reunited with the writers and much of the cast of last year’s “Christmas In My Hometown” to present a seasonal variety show entitled “BACP Hometown Holiday Happenings.”

     Patterned after a television Christmas special from yesteryear, ala Andy Williams, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin, “Hometown Holiday Happenings” pays tribute to December’s seasonal holidays of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa through music and sketches – both comedic and heart-touching.

     The show will feature new songs from Scott Brister, who wrote the music for “Christmas In My Hometown.”  It also will feature sketches from Steve Cowen, “Christmas in My Hometown” playwright, and Kelley Childers Friedberg, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America AND, there will be an audience sing-along with ukulele accompaniment.

     Featured entertainment includes some solo artists, vocal choirs, a bell choir, the Main Street Players and the ukulele group from the BA Senior Center.

     AND we each show will feature a "hometown" celebrity emcee: 

     Laura Mock, Fox 23 Morning Show meteorologist and Broken Arrow High School graduate, will emcee the show's opening night on Dec. 8. Showtime is set for 7:30 p.m.

     Saturday's 2 p.m. matinee will feature Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee as the emcee. That evening at 7:30 State Senator John Haste will host the show.

     The final performance - Sunday at 2 p.m. - will feature Broken Arrow Police Chief Brandon Berryhill as emcee. 

     Donations of the following items will be collected for the Broken Arrow Blue Star Mothers to send in gift boxes to local service personnel scattered around the globe:

     Please bring what you can and put it in the Blue Star Mothers' box in the lobby when you come to see the show.

     BACP’s “Hometown Holiday Happenings” opens Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Other performance dates are Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

     Tickets are $15 and $12 for seniors, child/student, military and groups of 10+.
